I learned to sew 50 years ago under the instruction of my grandmother on her beautiful Singer sewing machine. This was the machine she used to sew clothing for 8 children during the Great Depression.

Never being able to buy clothes off-the-rack, made it necessary to sew my own clothing. When I became the mother of two daughters, I sewed for them. Often making matching outfits trimmed with ruffles and frills. I even crafted their hair bows. I made their bedding from curtain fabric because I could not obtain Strawberry Shortcake at the time. They loved it.
